The answer to this question really depends on where in the country you're looking. Here in the Austin area, and particularly in Round Rock, the pandemic has increased the value of your home.
According to the Austin Board of REALTORS® (ABoR) latest Central Texas Housing Market Report, Austin-area home sales declined across most of the region as the full impact of the COVID-19 pandemic and local shelter-in-place orders was felt in the housing market. The report went on to say that this was primarily due to fewer people putting their homes on the market during this time period, with listings in Williamson County down 16.4%.
So what did this do to your home? Because there is still a large demand for homes in the Austin area, fewer homes on the market mean a greater demand for those that are - driving up the price. The median selling price of homes in Williamson County rose by an average of 6.6%! The housing market in Round Rock is still very competitive and NOW is a great time if you're thinking of selling your Vista Oaks Home.
